On December 3, 2025, our Cardiovascular Epidemiology Workshop gathered to celebrate a special milestone: the completion of Dr. Andrea Kozai’s post-doctoral fellowship in our NHLBI-funded T32 Training Program. Andrea has been an exemplary trainee whose dedication, scientific rigor, and collaborative spirit have greatly enriched our program.

As of January 1, 2026, she will be joining the Department of Epidemiology as a faculty member, a testament to her outstanding progress and the promise of her future contributions to cardiovascular research and training. Andrea’s research focuses on maternal health during and after pregnancy, with particular interests in health behaviors, placental function, and long-term cardiovascular disease risk. As a former professional dancer, she is also passionate about promoting health and wellness for dancers through research and outreach.

We are proud of Andrea’s achievements and grateful for the time she has spent nurturing the next generation of cardiovascular epidemiologists. Please join us in congratulating her on this important career milestone.
