Trainees, students, and faculty from the Cardiovascular Epidemiology T32 program had a strong presence at the American Heart Association EPI|Lifestyle Scientific Sessions 2026 in Boston, with numerous poster and oral presentations spanning cardiovascular, aging, omics, and global health research.
A major highlight was the selection of Ian Jacobs and Lauren Carlson for the highly competitive NHLBI Trainee Oral Session, recognizing the scientific excellence and impact of their work. Ian presented on mechanistic components of arterial stiffness and incident dementia, while Lauren presented on pulse pressure as a mediator linking cognition and bone health in older women.
In addition, Andrea Kozai, a recent postdoctoral trainee of the program, delivered an oral presentation in the Women’s and Maternal Health session, further underscoring the strength of the T32 training environment and the success of its trainees in competitive scientific forums.
The attached group photos capture trainees and collaborators at the meeting, highlighting the T32 program’s collaborative and supportive environment. Overall, the 2026 AHA EPI|Lifestyle meeting marked an outstanding showing for the T32 program, with national recognition of trainee research and continued momentum in advancing cardiovascular and aging science.
