After 14 total years affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh as graduate student and faculty member, T32 alumnus Andrew D. Althouse, PhD (Epidemiology, 2013) was hired as a Senior Principal Statistician by Medtronic in October 2022.
In this role, Dr. Althouse will help with statistical design, conduct, analyze, and report findings from clinical trials carried out in the Structural Heart & Aortic unit at Medtronic. This role will call on knowledge and experience accumulated throughout Dr. Althouse’s time at the University of Pittsburgh – from his time in the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Training Program to his later roles at UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and the Center for Clinical Trials and Data Coordination, Dr. Althouse has developed a blend of therapy-area knowledge and clinical trials experience. This blend makes him very well-positioned to carry out high-quality clinical trials that will help advance the care of patients with structural heart disease and we wish him well in this new endeavor!
