Andrea Kozai, PhDThe Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcome Study – Monitoring Mothers-to-be Heart Health Study 2 (nuMoM2b-HHS2) is an ongoing NHLBI-funded cohort study examining maternal cardiovascular health following a first pregnancy.

The NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health sponsors the $20,000 Scholars’ Awards, which are awarded based on a research project proposal and culminate in submission of a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal. Dr. Kozai’s successful proposal focuses on examining the associations of early-pregnancy health behaviors such as physical activity, diet, smoking, and sleep with mid-pregnancy blood biomarkers of placental health and function.
